Hi, I’m Ashley Feeley!

Hello, I’m Ashley, owner of Lovely Latch Lactation and your nearby IBCLC! I want you to feel seen and empowered to create a custom feeding plan that supports your family during this new chapter.

The first week with a newborn’s a wild ride. And often, feeding’s the biggest hurdle to overcome — but not with me in your village!

“Ashley’s an incredible and wonderful lactation consultant! She taught me how to properly pump, increase my supply, different strategies for nursing, and everything in between. She has so much knowledge and has helped me immensely on this journey, I can’t thank her enough!“

What's Covered In Your Prenatal Visit?

Review of Your Medical History & Concerns

There's a lot to feeding a baby! Depending on the route (breast, chest, body, formula, pumping), you want to know what to look out for. Working with your personal heath history and goals, we discuss how to help your body thrive.

Discuss Breastfeeding Basics (Or Any Type of Feeding!)

It’s not always “natural” like they show in the movies. I’ll guide you with the basics of latching your baby, different feeding positions, hand expression, what those diapers should look like, and how much your baby should be eating.

Help with Choosing a Breast Pump or Weaning

Yup, that’s right. I support all ways to feed your baby and that includes exclusively pumping! Or if you know you don’t want to breastfeed your baby, I can help you naturally dry your milk supply up. Get all the tools you need to feed your baby — your way!

One-On-One Support

I know you have very specific questions related to your specific situation. Sure, you can Google around, but personalized care makes all the difference. I’ve helped hundreds of families on the path to happily feeding their babies, and I’m confident I’ll help yours too.

"Today I breastfed in public for the FIRST TIME EVER! I never thought I would be able to do that. With my first baby, I breastfed for 6 months, struggled a lot, and never once nursed in public. I can’t thank Ashley enough for the knowledge and confidence she has given me. She met with me about mid-way through my 3rd trimester, and I felt so prepared this time around.

The baby had very high bilirubin levels, was admitted to the NICU, and needed to be hydrated quickly. Because Ashley had helped me prepare for this (my other 2 babies also had high bilirubins), I stayed calm in a very stressful situation to hand express, nurse, and pump with confidence. Her home visits have been beyond helpful, and I am so incredibly grateful to her to be able to have this experience and special time with my baby."

FAQ's

  1. When should I see a lactation consultant during pregnancy?

I recommend setting up a prenatal visit around the 34-36 week mark and a postpartum visit the same week you get home from the hospital. We want to ensure everything goes smoothly and your baby is transferring milk appropriately.

Early preparation and personalized prenatal breastfeeding education increase your chances of successfully meeting your breastfeeding goals.

  2. Should I wake my newborn during the night to feed them?

Oh, how common this question is! We all know how meaningful sleep is, right? It’s hard to answer without any information on your baby or situation. I’ll teach you whats normal and how to ensure your baby is gaining appropriately and your milk supply is protected.

  3. Is it normal for breastfeeding to hurt?

Absolutely not! Please reach out if feeding your baby hurts. Pain’s a huge indicator that something’s wrong. I’ll get to the bottom of it, promise.
